Current Positions
Fire Department:
VOLUNTEER ASSISTANT FIRE CHIEF
The City of Lebanon is accepting applications for the position of Volunteer Assistant Fire Chief. This individual will serve as the Officer in Charge (OIC) at fire calls and related incidents in the absence of, or under the direction of, the Fire Chief. Responsibilities include overseeing hazardous materials responses at the operations level and directing fire-fighting forces and activities to protect life and property. The Volunteer Fire Chief is directly responsible to the Fire Chief and Deputy Fire Chief.
Preferred Experience
- Working knowledge of modern firefighting, fire prevention, and rescue methods
- Minimum of 5 years experience (preferred)
Required Education
- PA State Fire Academy Firefighter II Certification, or related field
- Considerable administrative experience or equivalent on-the-job experience
Residency Requirement
Must reside within a reasonable distance of the City limits, as approved by the Mayor and Fire Chief.
Stipend
- $5,500 to $9,100 per year

Public Works Department:
ZONING OFFICER
The Zoning Officer/ Permit Processor conducts specialized technical work in the enforcement of zoning, flood plain and various land use codes. Performs zoning permit inspections based on approved plans, to ensure compliance with zoning codes and regulations. The officer prepares packets and advertisements for zoning hearings and appeal hearings. The officer will be required to conduct field inspections to confirm setbacks, structure size and location, verify complaints, and gather evidence for hearings. Additionally, the officer processes and oversees the issuance of building code permits by a third party contractor. The officer shall be proficient in Microsoft Office and in the use of computer systems. The officer shall be able to write notices, issue permits and Notices of Violation. The officer shall be neat in appearance and polite in character and a public servant who can cheerfully and professionally interact with the public on a daily basis.
Pay: $57,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year, Full-time
