Current Positions



A high level of customer service skills is required for purposes of answering the telephone, directing calls and waiting on customers. The Office Assistant must be able to exercise good discretion, confidentiality, dependability, and initiative. Ability to gain a comprehensive knowledge of municipal and departmental organization, rules, regulations and procedures. Must possess a thorough knowledge of office procedures and must be able to use various computer software, experience using social media and excellent writing skills.

Salary: $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

Police Department:

POLICE OFFICER (full-time):

The Police Civil Service Commission is currently accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. Applications may be obtained on-line at www.PoliceApp.com. No mailed applications will be accepted. The deadline for applications is Monday, January 15, 2024.


  • All applicants must be a U.S. citizen. 
  • All applicants must be twenty-one (21) years of age upon return of the application. 
  • All applicants must possess a high school diploma or a GED. 
  • The City of Lebanon will waive the $35.00 fee for the written test.
  • Please be advised that PoliceApp will charge a non-refundable processing fee. 


The Lebanon City Police Department will be conducting a physical agility examination on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 9:00 AM at the Lebanon Middle School, 350 N. 8th Street, Lebanon, PA. In addition, all Non-Act 120 applicants will be given the physical agility entrance exam for the HACC Police Academy immediately following.


The written examination will be conducted following successful completion of the physical agility test.

Part-time Crossing Guard Positions available. Safely cross school students on their way to and from school in the City of Lebanon. $15.44/hour.  

Public Works:  


Fall/Winter Maintenance employee performs a wide variety of tasks including but not limited to leaf removal, clearing debris from leaf piles and drain covers, plowing, salting, sidewalk snow removal, hand shoveling and clean-up of vehicles after plowing. Employee must provide own winter wear appropriate for weather conditions.  Temporary seasonal position from November to February.  Hours based on need relative to weather and seasonal conditions. Flexible schedule required and valid PA driver’s license.
